understanding histograms

1. What is a histogram? A quick summary of the tonal range in a photograph. 2. What happens to the visual when a histogram is skewed to the left? Right? When the histogram is to the left then the picture is underexposed, or darker. when the histogram is to the left the picture is overexposed,or lighter. some of the parts seem to be blown completely out by light. 3. In most cases, what does a “good” histogram look like? when the histogram is just about even throughout, from left to right. 4. Why is a histogram a good tool for photographers? the histogram is a great tool for a photographer to help them with over and under exposing a photograph and getting it just right. this also helps the photography look more advanced.
